Bunny turns one!

November 24, 2008 · 4 Comments

We woke up this morning to the announcement that it was Bunny’s birthday. After many make believe cakes and celebrations, we decided to go all out with the real thing!

Everybody came to the party

We celebrated with carrot muffins (Bunny’s favorite)

After the party Finn said he was going to pick out some books to read…

He put “just a few” in the pile! That’s my boy!

Finn was driving a digger with this branch Allan found for him.

That was one big oak tree! Allan has split by axe and stacked all this wood.

Visit with the Cousins!

November 12, 2008 · 1 Comment

Allan’s cousin David, wife Michelle, and kids Joshua (5) and Julia (almost 3) were here staying with us for 2 days of non-stop fun. What a blast the kids had – if only they didn’t live in Spain we could see them more often!

While I was stuck on a broken down train for 2 hours this morning on my way into work…these guys headed into Salem for a walkabout before spending the afternoon at an indoor waterpark.

And light there is.

As you may have seen from Leo’s blog, we had some tree work done on Friday.

There was a cherry picker, wood chipper, and a grapple crane. Finn and Leo had lots of fun watching. I was unfortunately (fortunately?) at work but the boys had a great time.

At first Finn was a little unsure of all the noise, and so watched from the inside, with his headphones on!

IMG_9087.JPG

Kind of looks like they are going to come through the window, doesn’t it?

I think this is my favorite picture of the day, and the one that makes me think I was glad to not be at home!

Crane up and over for the oak. Even today, a very overcast and dreary day, we feel like the house has sooo much more light. It’s crazy. It feels bigger on the inside because of the light, but looks a lot smaller from the outside. The yard looks much bigger and the deck and garden are going to get so much more sun. And hopefully inside will benefit from that sun too and our house won’t be quite so very freezing all the time. Very happy we had it all done. Now if only the sun would come out…

Fireman Take 2

November 2, 2008 · 3 Comments

Finn enjoyed dressing up as a fireman yet again this year…

“Practicing” getting candy at our house

And they are off

Batman (Brendan) and a fireman came to my door!

With a chicken in a stroller! (Anna)

Luckily, I ran out of candy pretty fast so was able to go out with the kids and Matt and Allan. The boys had a lot of fun. There was even one house with a smoke machine so Finn was able to put out the fire. Good thing we got there just in time.
