We had a fabulous July 4th weekend at Mum and Dad’s new camp in Maine. Thanks for such a great weekend!
A happy Mum and Dad, Finn busy with his tape measure!
Allan got his boat in the water and had four brilliant days of sailing.
More pictures of the boat can be seen here
Classic Maine: a loon on the lake
Watching the July 4th parade in “downtown” Belgrade Lakes
Parade highlights:dressed up geese, the “police car” that had to keep having water added to it, horses, a truck from a local farm where the kids threw the crowd peas instead of candy, a lotus with GB & Union Jack stickers, some antique cars.
Poor Finny – he hates the noise of the fire trucks sirens. He believes that when he is a fireman he won’t have to hear the sirens because he’ll be inside the truck. But unfortunately for now parades are a mixed bag…
We couldn’t get Finn out of the lake by the end of the trip!
Practicing the doggy paddle
Swimming with Mummy
One happy Dad, at the helm of his new boat.
Enjoying a ride (and a juice box!) on Dad’s (Grandad’s) boat
Skipper Allan and his able crew setting off
We participated in a fun race around the island in the middle of the lake, and did quite well, if I do say so myself! That little boat is quite speedy!
And they are off! In Dad’s new boat!

This is eerily similar to my July 4th weekend blog post. Are we leading parallel lives?
