Christmas Parade

Today was the Beverly Christmas Parade. In theory, lots of fun and many fire trucks. In reality, lots of very loud fire trucks and a very scared little boy. Finn loves fire trucks. Next to tractors I think they may be his favorite vehicle. Just not ones with sirens on. The start of the parade has a good dozen trucks from surrounding communities and wow was it loud. Finn was petrified. But then the fun stuff came and he really enjoyed it. He got to see Santa on a wagon being pulled by two horses. Excellent.

Thanksgiving

Mum and Dad’s house is an amazing combination of peace and beautiful things that occassionally gets bombarded with rambunctious boys!

Who did you love?

I finally took some time this weekend to look around Acton and see if I could find my bear. He seems to have been “disposed” of, but I happened across this picture I took of him. I don’t think he ever had a name and I don’t remember being that attached to him, but he certainly looks well loved.

 I looked back to see if I could find where the love affair with yellow blankie started, and I am finding it was a staple in the crib right from the beginning! I think he’s about a month old in this picture.

Finn’s ABCs take one

I figured out how to get this version uploaded. He’s sitting with Auntie Sophie and the picture is much better than in the one I posted below.

It is not the best video but you get the idea. We are not sure what he has against the letter J, but it gets left out every time. At the end he says “now you know your special light” which is actually from one of his books. Sometimes he adds on “next time say good night.” I believe that is called “creative license.” Enjoy!

Delicata this

Thanks to Amy K in SF for these two great recipes.  We got a bountiful Thanksgiving share today at the farm, including two more squash so we will definitely be trying one, if not both, of these recipes on Thursday.

Last week I made up a stuffed squash recipe – rice, peas, cranberries and tofu. It was actually scrumptious and even better, Finn loved it!

Audubon

Finn and I had a fun morning at his Audubon class. We built a fairy house in the woods (his fairy is a boy named Mick-Mack who wears red sparkles)

 Finn’s favorite activity at the playground is to drive the jeep. He gives it “petrol” and checks the air in the tires. Today we “drove” to the farm and picked up carrots and then “drove” to visit Alibi at the barn and gave him the carrots.

Finally, a pony ride.

After months of contemplation Finn finally rode a pony! Thanks to Auntie Sophie for a great afternoon at the barn.
